Abstract | Bi2212/Ag round wire can be used as large current capacity conductor fabricated in the shape of Rutherford cable. We have fabricated 110 m long Bi2212 Rutherford cable of 20 strand and 10 m long Bi2212 Rutherford cable of 30 strand and 8 strand by using our own Rutherford cabling machine. The critical current (I c) of the reacted Rutherford cables have been measured at 4.2 K and 65 K, respectively. The magnetization (M) versus. magnetic field (H) and magnetic irreversibility (DeltaM) versus. magnetic field (H) have been measured at 5-40 K in background magnetic field up to 8 T using PPMS instrument. It is estimated from DeltaM that critical current density (J c) of 20 strand Rutherford cable is higher than that of 30 strand Rutherford cable. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
