Abstract | The paper derives parameter equation of raceway section curve about slewing ring with elliptic ball track, and establishes the 3D finite element analysis model of elliptic and round ball track slewing ring. The finite element contact analysis is implemented on two shapes of ball track slewing ring by ANSYS software. The analysis results are consistent with Hertz theory results. The results show that the carrying capacity of slewing ring with elliptic ball track is higher than slewing ring with round ball track by about 20% in the same load. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
